Foil Packet Make Ahead Meals

One of the worst parts of cooking is cleaning up the mess. This week, I’m making foil packet make ahead meals, so there won’t be anything to clean. Just throw away the foil, and you’re good to go. I’m looking forward to a week of no dishes, except silverware.

Have a week free from dishes with these foil packet make ahead meals.

Foil Packet Make Ahead Meals

Last weekend, after I made my 10 minute make ahead meals, I had a sink full of dishes. The meals were ready in only a few minutes, but there was a lot of clean up work to do.

I have a dishwasher, but I wash some of my larger pots and pans by hand. Plus, it takes a while to rinse all the dishes and load them into the dishwasher. I just wasn’t in the mood to do dishes after Miss M’s birthday party.

This week, I decided to plan a week with no dishes. How could I have meals for the week and not dirty a single pot or pan?

Foil packets!

The prep work is really easy, and the foil just gets thrown away when you’re done eating. Here are my foil packet make ahead meals for this week.

Monday – Bacon Ranch Chicken Foil Packets

Monday night, we are having the Bacon Ranch Chicken Foil Packets from Sara at Dinner at the Zoo. These are all flavors we love, and I’m sure they’ll be delicious together.

When I prepared the foil packets, I spread 6 pieces of foil over my kitchen table. I added one ingredient at a time. Once all the ingredients were layered, I folded the foil over both ends and rolled up the sides. I wanted to make sure no heat would escape while they were cooking.

Tuesday – Herb Butter Salmon and Asparagus Foil Packets

I’m going to the fish store Tuesday night to get some salmon to make the Herb Butter Salmon and Asparagus Foil Packets from Tiffany at Creme de la Crumb. Asparagus was on sale at the grocery store, and I wanted one of my foil packet make ahead meals to include fish. I can’t wait to try this recipe! The foil packets will be easy to assemble, and they cook in just 20 minutes.

Wednesday – Caprese Stuffed Chicken Foil Packets

Caprese salad is one of my favorite things. In season tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and balsamic are a perfect combination! When I found the recipe for Caprese Stuffed Chicken Foil Packets from Amanda at The Wholesome Dish, I knew it would be perfect. The fact that it’s served over zucchini sealed the deal. Zucchini is one of our favorite veggies.

I stuffed all the chicken first with the cheese and tomatoes. Then, I cut the zucchini and put it in the center of the foil. I topped it with the stuffed chicken. The only change I made to the recipe was not including the balsamic vinegar before cooking it. My kids aren’t fans of balsamic, so I’ll just add it to Tony’s and mine after they are done cooking.

Thursday – Foil Pack Italian Sausage and Veggies

I went to the farmer’s market to stock up on ingredients for the Foil Pack Italian Sausage and Veggies from Chelsea’s Messy Apron. Luckily, they still had some corn on the cob. The hardest part of this recipe was cutting the corn into smaller pieces. Once that was done, the packets were together in less than 5 minutes. I’m really looking forward to eating these Thursday night. The combination of veggies looks delicious!

Friday – Pizza

Friday night is still going to be pizza night this week. I bought some pizza crusts, and I have some homemade pizza sauce in the freezer. I will cook the pizzas on foil, too. That way, my Friday night clean up will be really easy, too.

Dessert – Smore Banana Boats

Even dessert this week is made in a foil packet. The Smore Banana Boats from Michelle at Crafty Recipes look absolutely delicious! My kids love smores, so I’m sure this dessert will become a new favorite. Plus, Giant had a special this week, and I got the chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows for just five dollars. All of those flavors with the banana are going to be amazing!

I’m really looking forward to my week without dishes thanks to these foil packet make ahead meals. That means more time to play with my kids and relax after long days at school.

  1. What a nifty way to eliminate dishes! I hate having to do a ton of cleanup after weekly meal prep. Thankfully hubby used to wash dishes at work a lot and he can breeze right through them! 🙂
